Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi has achieved great success with his introspective, atmospheric music, which has its roots in minimalism and modern composition, but has expanded to include influences from rock and pop as well as African and Middle Eastern music. His earliest works were compositions for theatre and ballet in the 1980s, with 1988's Time Out serving as his debut album.
